Midnight Food Delivery

How is it possible NOT to “Fall for Greenville?,” which presents a wide variety of culinary samples for every palate and various musical performances throughout the weekend.

Freedom Fest attendees can also get special discounts at numerous downtown Restaurants in Gangtok, bars and retail merchants with the purchase of a $10.00 wristband. Proceeds from the sale of the the wristbands will benefit American Legion Post 38 and the Fort Myers River District Alliance.

The atmosphere at El Mejor is pretty nice. They have a very large sign that is almost the size of a billboard. The parking situation isn’t the best. I mentioned that it used to be a small gas station, so there is little parking to speak of, so you have to park in a lot across the street. Fortunately the street is hardly used. The inside has a fountain and a few different rooms that have been built over the years.

For breakfast, they have fresh muffins (my favorite are the Chocolate Muffins – too die for!), Bagel Egg and Bacon Sandwiches (scrumptious!), Croissant Egg Sandwiches, Sausage Croissant Sandwiches, Bagels (with all the usual fillings), and lots of other pastries. Prices range from 45 baht for a muffin (about $1.25) all the way up to 100 baht ($3) for a stuffed croissant sandwich. They often do specials though, where you can get a croissant or bagel breakfast sandwich and coffee for around 100 baht ($3), which is a great deal.

You can roast a small amount of chile peppers over a gas stove using a long, heat resistant handled fork. Simply poke the pepper with the fork and hold over the open flame, turning frequently until the skin blisters. Don’t hold the pepper to close to the flame or it will burn. Allow to cool, then remove the skin, veins and seeds and chop.

But be on the lookout: you will be seeing lemon pop-up on numerous other menus, since the peak season for this juicy fruit is from April to July. The lemon, however, is not the only celebrated citrus. Its cousin, the Meyer lemon, has recently made a name for itself. This fruit is a cross between a lemon and a tangerine, which gives it a lower level of acidity. So if you are not a fan of the tart kick you get from a lemon, the Meyer lemon is the perfect choice for you. Either way, the lemon is a wonderful (and classic) way to end a meal!

Paros is definitely one of the most relaxing, beautiful, friendly and safe islands in the Cyclades. The local Parians make you feel almost as if you are family. It’s easy to explore the entire island by scooter. We even found some restaurants that can compete with many of the best on neighboring islands. And of course, the sunsets are absolutely magical. Overall, you get a real sense of what it could be like to actually live in the Greek Islands. Definitely worth a visit for a few nights, if not more.
