While Sacramento collects food to send to starving East Africa during their worst drought in years, some European towns in Italy and Spain are holding ‘Carnival’ to honor certain saints by throwing food at one another, trampling and wasting perhaps 100 tons of oranges and tomatoes. For example, the famous carnival food fights this August that destroy tons of oranges, are still held in the town of Ivrea, Italy. And tons of fresh tomatoes are squashed and dumped in Spain. Why aren’t these foods shipped to starving people elsewhere? Because it wouldn’t draw enough tourists to these small towns during the summer. These are annual events.
As I often say, the beautiful blend of pathos & humor really came out of the hearts of who our writers were. They’re extraordinarily insightful, passionately aware, alive human beings who love to laugh and make other people laugh. Ira Behr and Ron Moore and Rene Echevarria are all people who get it, you know? And they were brought together by one of the top writers of all time, Michael Piller, who we unfortunately lost far too soon. It’s not surprising to me that the show’s deep messages and hilarious antics were often both created by the same writer in the same episode. That’s who these writers are.
Get a room on the highest floor possible. Rooms on the main floor are more convenient for a thief to reach. If possible, avoid rooms where sliding doors are present. Rooms with sliding doors are at a greater risk of being breaking into.
Europe wastes too much food instead of sending it to starving East Africa. For example, in Germany, people are pelted with candy, and other food throws as well as flowers. In Binche (pronounced BANSH), Belgium, the otherwise-dignified Gilles throw oranges at the crowd. These are perfectly good oranges, hundreds of them thrown away in a mess that turns the streets into sticky garbage. Couldn’t those oranges be sent to areas of drought in other places of the world to feed those in need? In times past, throughout Europe and the Americas, such good foods as flour, eggs, seeds, and onions have been hurled at festival-goers. Sometimes rice is hurled at people. Other times and in other areas of the world dirt is hurled or colored powders for celebrations.
Now, the risk with a late booking is that you are choosing your holidays which no one else has opted for. Though, this thing doesn’t matter with the train or the plane tickets, but it can matter in terms of accommodation. You have to get prepared for and be content with the leftovers of the hotel rooms.
Coordinate with a holiday agents when you’re physically challenged. The infrastructure that you can find in Mexico is not comparable to that of other countries. Thus, several of its establishments are not physically challenged-friendly. If you want to travel to Mexico despite your physical condition, it’s wise to coordinate with a holiday agents so he or she can tell you the best places to stay and visit that could be comfortable to you.
Put the internet to work for you. Almost 80 percent of all travel is booked through the internet today. It’s a lot more convenient than calling several different places to find out if they have availability. When you call back a few minutes later to make a reservation, there is suddenly no room. The travel sites are great because you can see several different aspects of your trip all at once. It allows booking multiple things at once, so you know you have everything set perfectly.
Lastly, airlines try to promote loyalty by giving frequent flyer miles. As enticing as they may sound, sometimes it is better to just find the best deal you can on any airline. Remember it is getting much more difficult to use those frequent flyer miles.
