There are many cat and kitten diseases, far too numerous for me to go into at this time, plus the fact I am not too knowledgeable in that area. For now I am going to touch upon some of the more common illnesses your cats may face and ones I am more familiar with.
If for some reason you do suspect you have contracted the parasite somehow, consult your doctor immediately. It can easily be treated with antibiotics, even if you are pregnant. However, a few precautions as discussed above will more than likely keep you in a safe state and you do not need to get rid of your precious cat. Precautions do go a very long way, for you, your family and your pets.
It’s a good idea to purchase a number of foods, including both canned and dry formulas. Since almost everyone knows how choosy cats can be when it comes to eating, it’s best to optimize your chances of giving your new cats-life he will like to eat. This may also help to minimize your cat’s stress as he adapts to his new home.
Swollen or Infected Anal Glands: If you see your cat sliding along your tile floor it can be a sign of one or two things. It might be a symptom of tapeworms or it could be swollen or infected anal glands. These glands are located on either side of the anus on the inside. If the glands are swollen, they need to be emptied.
Cats Meow #3, Lucinda, is the cat of good witch Isabel Bigelow (Nicole Kidman). This $85 million dollar budgeted movie that also starred Will Ferrell, Shirley MacLaine and Michael Caine, was monitored during its filming by the American Humane’s Film & Television Unit to make sure that none of the scenes put any of the cats or animals used at risk. In one particular scene, as Isabel is struggling to set up her home entertainment system, Lucinda bats at fluffy things floating in the air. In order to accomplish this scene, trainers had to position the cat on a VCR box and verbally cue Lucinda to stand on her hind legs and swat while nearby fans blew Styrofoam “peanuts” in the air.
Just feeding your cat vegetables is not a good idea. The cat’s diet has to be as close to the one he would eat in the wild as possible. Protein, which is one of the most important parts of a diet are only found in meats and some vegetables.
If you think you’d like to try a raw food diet for your kitty, please consult with your vet before doing so. Follow her advice and instructions on how to transition your cat safely. And don’t forget – the biggest veto resides with your kitty!
